Passover Question
Question:
My girlfriend and I are going to try to observe passover to the fullest, but cannot find a comprehensive list of what food is and is not allowed besides the obvious no bread. My girlfriend likes to eat granola, is this allowed? I hope you can answer our questions. Thank you!
Passover Answer(s)
Answer:
Granola is not acceptable for Passover although I have seen Kosher for Passover fake granola bars; but they taste really bad and I do not recommend them. Hopefully you live in a neighborhood that has a supermarket with a Kosher for Passover aisle. Shop in this aisle and look for products that have a "P" or another Kosher for Passover certification mark on the label. You can also check back on http://Kosher4Passover.com tomorrow to purchase Passover products online.
Answer:
Chametz (not edible over passover) is anything that has wheat, rye, spelt, oats, or barley. The tricky part is that these are hidden in lots of items, like most alcohol is made from these items.
